Buzz has had some major tauma in his past. Our vets assess that he has about 10% vision. He does manage to run around and not bump into things. Buzz sustained some injuries to his legs as well so he is not quite as well balanced on his feet as other dogs, but does not stop him enjoying his walks, bones and games. Connor was one of the saddest dogs I have seen. He was urine soiled, matted and seemed to act as if he was blind. When we clipped his hair, we found he had some vision, but had an eye ulcer which was very painful. He mouth was putrid and is was hard for him to eat anything apart from chicken broth. After seeing an eye specialist and having his teeth as well as a hernia repaired, Connor is looking for the quiet life where he can be spoillt a bit. Evie is a lovely,gentle dog who can't get enough pats. She will melt into your arms and lap it all up for as long as you can give it. She is starting to come out of her shell as she becomes more confident with her surroundings, and bumps her way around the house. She is learning to trust us now and is even happy to go down stairs (slowly) with guidance and support. This is a big achievement as she was terrified of going down stairs at the beginning. She loves her daily walk at the waterfront where she slowly sniffs everything, and has become relatively fast when walking on the footpath. She gets on well with other dogs, but does require quite a bit of extra time. She would be fine with another slow dog and one who is very easy going, as she also tends to bump unintentionally into our other dogs quite a bit when she is on the move in the house. She can be quite vocal occasionally, mainly when she smells food or has dropped her bone and can't find it again. This is only occasionally now as she is getting used to our routine and now knows when she eats, and when we eat. She is an absolutely delightful dog who is no trouble at all, but obviously will need extra time, patience and understanding at the start because of her disabilities.
